Self-discipline

Academic progress without a sense of responsibility in students' academic roles is impossible. Performing academic activities regularly and independently is known as "self-discipline." This trait can create an environment for academic progress. For example, the implementation of self-discipline strategies by gifted students yields positive results. To achieve these independent and individual activities, at least two necessary traits are required, both of which are generally found in gifted students: positive self-confidence and strong internal motivation. Additionally, precise recognition of academic talent and the type of academic weakness by students can help strengthen their "academic readiness" and contribute to achieving appropriate academic progress.

The Role of Goal Setting

Academic progress may be possible when the psychological and academic readiness, as well as the environment and context in which the individual is placed, are well understood and recognized, allowing the individual to align their readiness with environmental needs and requirements. Additionally, precise recognition of academic talent and the type of academic weakness by students can help strengthen their "academic readiness" and contribute to achieving appropriate academic progress.

Therefore, goal setting is recognized as one of the main and central axes of academic progress. All environmental conditions, including family, school, and society, which support the enhancement of students' goal setting, have actually contributed to their academic progress.
