In the dictionary, "experience" means "trial and testing" (Dehkhoda). In terminology, it refers to repeated observation and perception of the sequence of two events in a way that the mind becomes convinced that there is a causal or complementary relationship between them, and their coincidence or randomness is eliminated from the mind. In a general sense, it refers to all skills and knowledge acquired from encountering certain phenomena and engaging with those phenomena over a certain period. Experiences or experiments are also terms used by logicians to denote judgments obtained through experience, and all conditions of experience are considered valid in them.

Life can be defined as the passage of time, and thus the beginning of the discussion about experience should be understood in terms of time. Human life finds meaning and continues within the framework of time, and it has been mentioned elsewhere that learning is a process through which humans grow (Jarvis, 1992). In very simple terms, time is experienced as what relates to the past, present, and future, but the present time is usually problematic, as immediately after interpreting the present, it becomes the past, so that it can be said that people actually think about past and future times, although experiencing is something that occasionally occurs between these two times.

In fact, it can be argued that most of the time people live in a state of unawareness regarding the passage of time, and their behavior takes place in a natural manner. Bergson defines this phenomenon as "continuity," which is almost the same as unconscious time passing. However, the French philosopher Henri Bergson writes, "Whenever a person behaves naturally, he still has some awareness of the passage of time, although this awareness is very slight."

Experience is a mental awareness of the present situation, and its meaning is determined to some extent by the individual's previous learning, so experience is not merely external; rather, it is a combination of the external world with human memories. The greatest curiosity in life is the experience of life itself, as life is an experiential phenomenon just as learning is; continuous experience continually renews life.

In interactive psychology, "experience" plays a very important role as a fundamental element of "experiential intelligence." As mentioned, this type of intelligence refers to the ability to experience knowledge to clarify issues, which begins with stimulating general curiosity with any vague or complex problem. Experiential intelligence includes active sensory learning, especially the use of observation and action in an environment accompanied by restlessness for experiencing knowledge, and, in fact, no doctrine is accepted without gaining experience.

The role of "experimentation" or "experience" is broader than a limited characteristic; it is so influential that it is referred to as the "ability to experience" in the creativity process. Therefore, the ability to experience is prominent among artists (Dadkhah et al., 1991).

Recently, five personality factors, namely "neuroticism," "agreeableness," "experiential openness," "extraversion," and "conscientiousness," have been investigated in interaction with creativity among students. The results showed that experiential openness predicts authenticity and, along with conscientiousness and agreeableness, predicts the usefulness of creativity. In addition, the effect of agreeableness on authenticity depends on experiential openness.

The ability to experience knowledge to clarify issues, which begins with stimulating general curiosity with any vague or complex problem, to lead to the proper and accurate performance of the assigned task. In other words, a person uses experiential intelligence to perform tasks.

The ability to experience knowledge to clarify issues, which begins with stimulating general curiosity with any vague or complex problem, sometimes results in the ability to provide useful solutions easily in a novel way, plans that are a new, easy, and effective solution to difficult problems, and enables the individual to perform a prominent useful task.
