Emotion-Thought Theory was first presented at the seventeenth World Conference of the Council for Gifted and Talented Children in the UK in 2007, and then developed in other international forums. This theory focuses on the integrated nature of the emotional and cognitive domains of creativity and sees the creative process as arising from the existence of intertwined cognitive and emotional transformations.
While initially emerging from the realm of creativity, Emotion-Thought Theory actually emphasizes the integrated interaction of emotional, cognitive, and behavioral domains in the psychological system.
This theory is a general theory in psychology and is considered a new perspective in explaining phenomena and predicting psychological events by highlighting the interactive relationships established among psychological dimensions. The broadest application of this theory lies in explaining the processes of creativity, decision-making, problem-solving, and emotional-cognitive impairments.
